While there are animal shelters for both dogs and cats, and while some zoos or sanctuaries will accept stray and or injured wild animals, there seems to be no equivilency in the world of birds. It is for this reason that various bird clubs have been created, of which the Parrot Fanciers Club to which I belong is one. We have established the first bird sanctuary on Long Island in Lindenhurst. We routinely accept stray, unwanted, or injured birds and give and or find them loving homes. Our mission is to raise money using a variety of methologies to accomplish our goals. |
